11 Months

You pull yourself up on anything and everything. You then walk around the house using the furniture to get you there.

You don't seem too interested in walking on your own, but if we hold your hands you walk quickly.

Your top teeth, (3 & 4) have come in most of the way. We are still missing #'s 1 & 2.

We know you are happy when you are whistling.

You say Ma Ma, Da Da, Boo when we play peek a boo, hey and hi.

Wear size 3 diapers.

Wear clothes from 6-12 months, and have been wearing some 3-6 month cardigans and sweaters from last winter.

Love to eat! You will try anything we are eating. You just started eating yogurt and cheese and you love both of them. You can drink the pouches of baby food all by yourself now.

Still take 2 naps a day, but they vary in length. Sometimes they are an hour long and can be up to three hours long.

You love to play in the bathroom. You rarely go for the toilet or toilet paper. You like to play on the scale, or stand up by the tub and push the shampoo and conditioner into the tub.

Playing catch is your  new favorite game.

This month you got two new cousins. Jensen Staheli was born on the 10th and Crew Haslam on the 13th.

Met your cousin Brody Barber, and got a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Barber.

Love to read, chew, and sometimes lick books.

Always on the move.

You are drinking from a sippy cup and straw now.

10 Months

(Forgot to post this...)

We are in the double digits now, you are 10 months today.

Lately you have been sleeping around 11-12 hours a night. Usually you will go down at 8 and wake up around 8. If you are cranky from your teeth coming in, you will wake up once to cry.

Naps this month have been here and there, lately you have been napping twice a day and usually for an an and a half to two hours each time.

This month you finally learned how to crawl. You crawl everywhere and you are fast! You still use your right leg to propel yourself. Occasionally you will crawl normal.

Mom went through your clothes and you are still in 9 month or 6-12 month clothes. Your shoes are all still too big for you. You can wear your smallest pairs, but they still have room in the toes.

Two of your favorite "toys" are the saline nose drops and the sunscreen face stick. Who needs a big bucket of baby toys when you have those to play with?

You just started making the cutest little whistle. When you get excited your close your lips into a little O and breathe in and out fast and it makes a little whistle sound.

When you go on walks with Mom, we stop and see the birds. A house down the road has a bunch of roosters, hens, swans, and other birds. The other day they came out to see us and you screamed with delight.

You went to Lake Powell for the 2nd time this summer. You crawled all over the houseboat, swam in the lake, slept in the ski boat, and enjoyed eating your first Oreo.

You have lots of friends in the ward. You enjoy playing with, sucking on, and stealing all of the other babies toys and binkies.

Mom set you on the scale the other day and you weighed 17.6 pounds with clothes.

You love to eat, and will eat anything put in front of you.

You are taking after your Mom and have a love for reading. You will sit and look at books by yourself for 10 - 15 minutes at a time. You will turn the pages and talk and laugh as you go.

2 more teeth broke through this month. Normally you should get your top middle teeth, but you skipped those and went to the two next to those. You are going to be a vampire baby for Halloween, that or a hillbilly.

If Mom sticks to the schedule your day looks like this: Wake up around 8, nurse and play until Mom is ready to go for a walk. Walk from 9 - 10, and then you come home and nap until 11:30 or so. Then you nurse and have some lunch in your high chair. You play with Mom until 2 or so. Playing includes pulling yourself up on any and all furniture, walking along the furniture, following Mom wherever she goes, playing with your toys, reading books, sucking on anything you can find, and laying on Mom's bed watching the fan. You nap for a couple hours and then play and eat until Dad gets home at 7:30. Say hello to Dad and then you nurse and go to bed.

You are nursing about 5 times a day, about every 3 hours and eat 2 solids meals with snacks throughout the day.

I feel like I was just writing last months post. (And maybe I was a couple weeks late writing your 8 month post...)

- Your first two teeth popped up this month. Your bottom two, the left one came in first and then a few days later the right one started coming in. You have such a cute smile with your two little teeth.

- You started biting and for a day Mom didn't think she was going to nurse you anymore.
- One day Mom found you sitting up in your crib. You know can go from laying down, to sitting up all by yourself.
- Crawling backwards is your form of transportation,  you also can move from side to side, but no regular crawling yet.
- You are scared of the vacuum, even if you just see it in the living room not going, you freak out.
- When you are happy, you scream to let everyone know.
- You also pant like a dog
- Uncle Dan taught you to spit.
- When you want extra attention, you start pretend coughing.
- You started having stranger anxiety, Grandpa Hales came over and you cried, twice.
- Sleeping has been amazing. You usually go to bed around 8, and sleep 11 - 12 hours.

24th of July

We started out the morning by dropping Bob off at Mapleton Jr. High so he could get ready for the parade. Olivia and I quickly found a spot by Mapleton Elementary to watch the parade. Olivia sat on her blanket and played with her toys while I was looking for my Dad's family.

I spotted my Uncle Ren's family and we soon joined them at the White Church with my Aunt Shauna's family and my Grandma and Grandpa Hales. We loved watching everyone in the parade and Olivia played with Aunt Shauna and Uncle Troy. It was fun to see Bob walking in the parade for his new job at Maple Mountain Pharmacy. We almost missed him, he was at the beginning of the parade and since we sat near the end hew as able to watch a lot with us.

After the parade we went to the park and listened to some music with Grandma Hales. Growing up we always went to the park after and played the games, ate lunch, and enjoyed the entertainment. I am so excited that I will get to carry on this tradition with my family. Bob was hungry from all of his walking and got a piece of pie. He fed Olivia some, which she loved!

We listened to a couple different performers with my Grandma. The first one wasn't my favorite, nor was it Olivia's. She fell asleep!

We spent the afternoon at my parents house before our BBQ. Bob and I watched the movie 42 with my Dad and Olivia took a nap. We put her in Andrea's old room on the bed. She had a jungle theme room so I used the animals to keep her from rolling off.

We had a wonderful BBQ and played a few games, and enjoyed the company of our family.

Fiesta Days

Today we went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo with my family. As I drove from Orem, I was happy to see the temperature drop from 100 to 90. It was still pretty hot even with a 8:00 PM starting time. We waited in a short line that took forever to get our dinner, and then we found our seats. Olivia did awesome and I wore her in the Baby Bjorn until we were done eating. Everyone in my family always wants a turn to hold her, so Bob and I were able to enjoy the rodeo. We stayed until 9:45 and then decided to call it a night since she usually is in bed by 8.

8 Months

(July 14th, 2013)

Today you turned 8 months! Where has the time gone? Before we know it you will be 1!
We sure do love our Livey Girl!

- After enjoying months of sleeping through the night, you started waking up 1 or 2 times a night crying.
- Started teething and Mom can see your bottom right tooth under your gums. That is why you have been waking up the last few nights.
- You are wearing mostly 6 - 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
- Mom and Dad left you with your first teenage babysitter while they went to the Temple with Ayrika and the rest of the family.
- Since Mom stopped working you don't take bottles very well anymore.
- For 2 weeks you went to swimming lessons with Mom at Lindon pool. You loved laying on your back, playing with the toys, and trying to blow bubbles.
- Took your first bath in the kitchen sink.
- Celebrated your first 4th of July.
- Went to Lake Powell with Mom and the rest of Mom's family while Dad stayed home and studied for his Pharmacy boards.
- While we were there, you wore your life jacket and went boating. You loved swimming in your float, and played with Mom's cousins Dillon and Addison.
- Went on another trip with Mom and Aunt Andrea to St. George for a couple days. We swam, shopped, and ate.
- You are starting to pull up on things around the house and love to pull up on Mom's legs.
- When Mom is folding the laundry you like to help.
- You go to bed between 7:30 - 9, and wake up between 6:30 -8:00. You nurse after waking up and play for an hour. Then you take your first nap which is between 1 and 2 hours. We play until 1 or 2 and then you take another 2 hour nap.
- You are talking more and more each day. You say dadadadadada the most and a few times ma ma. But for the most part you just talk gibberish.
- Dad has been working long hours and when he walks in the door you clap and show that you are excited to see him.
- You are getting close to crawling. You rock up on your knees and then lay on your belly, but there is not too much of a forward motion. You can scoot backwards and turn to the side.
