No new posts

My intention was to catch up on blogging today. I have tons of stuff from my family reunion at Lake Tahoe, lots of golfing trips with Bob and Brad, and our trip to Hawaii. But today my school MAC decided to hit the dust. The battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore but would work when the charger was plugged in. But today it wont even start up. SO sad. I hope I can get all of my pictures and files off of my computer. I have most of it backed up, but not any of our recent pictures or school files. Bummer!

Here's a laugh from my first day of school to tide you over.

We play 2 truths and a lie on the first day to get to know each other. I always have to read the 3 sentences because the kids always laugh when they read the lie. This cute boy comes to the front, and you need to know that he is black. I read over what he has written (so I can decide which order to read them in) and start to chuckle to myself.

1. I have 5 people in my family
2. I am 8 years old
3. I am Japanese

When I read the 3rd line, the whole class laughed and knew that that was his lie. He was so disapointed that he didn't trick anyone! Gotta love 3rd graders.

milk confession

Ever since I can remember I have drank skim milk. All through high school that is all my family bought. So when I went away to college, I bought skim milk. I remember thinking that other peoples milk was gross when it was 1 or 2%. When I got married I had to convince Bob to let us drink skim, and he so nicely went along with it.

I was reading in a fertility book the other day that whole fat dairy products help with fertility, especially ovulation- my main problem. Apparently as you go down in milk, more hormones are stripped from the milk.

So I went to the grocery store and bought 2%. There was NO way I was going to buy whole milk. Now I have to admit that I am obsessed with 2% milk. Last week has been the best week of my life, we went through a gallon in a flash. I love milk! I can't believe I have been drinking that watery skim milk for basically my whole life. And Bob was happy to say, "I told you so!"

Maybe next time I will try whole?

4th of July

On the 4th of July we had a big BBQ at my parents house. We had lots of good food, but the best part was this:

Shish kabobs, MMMMMM!

We really need a BBQ. You can do so much with it, and the food always taste so much better. My favorite vegetable? Definitely the mushrooms. Once when I was young my Mom made stuffed mushrooms and it was my favorite dinner ever.

For dessert I made mango frozen yogurt. It was so easy and so good, and healthy!

A long time ago

.... We went to Harry Potter on opening night. Bob and I doubled with Bob's brother Brad and his girlfriend Kaylee. We went to Zupas for dinner before and it was delish, as usual. I have been loving the chipotle chicken salad and a half of a sandwich. (Bob will eat the other half for me, thankfully!)

Bob and I got in line and while Brad and Kaylee walked around the shops. We played Uno while we waited for an hour. I also people watched and looked at all of the people who dressed up in costumes.

I loved the movie, but was so sad to see it end. A few tears were shed, Bob laughed at me. When the 7th book came out, I didn't read it because I didn't want HP to end. I finally read the book when the 6th movie came out. Woops!
