{Sneak Peak}

Here's a glimpse of our lives the past few days. We are enjoying fun times with family, beautiful weather, and lots of golfing!

What have I been up to this summer?

My summer started out with 6 days back at school preparing for next year. Since those are done, I have been spending at least every other day at my parents house hanging out with my favorite cousin.
This is Max, my new favorite cousin. I introduced you to him earlier, but here he is at 1 month. He is the cutest thing ever. He had some trouble breathing at first, but he is getting better at it now.

Don't you just love the double chin? Sometimes it's a triple! He loves to sleep with his hand on his face. I made this little onesie for him. Too bad he has almost grown out of it.

I'm a little sad that I won't be seeing him for the next couple of weeks. I'm afraid he will grown up while I am gone. I love you Max!

Cheesecake Anyone?

This past Sunday we celebrated Bob's birthday with my family. (My parents were on a cruise on his birthday.) My cousin Emily made an awesome dinner, and I provided the dessert. Bob chose oreo cheesecake. I used this recipe, and it was really good.

Here is the cheesecake, I forgot to take a picture before my Dad stole a piece.

I was so proud of the cheesecake, even though I hadn't tasted it at this point. I wish that I could smile just one time with my eyes open....
Had to take a picture of Bob with the cheesecake, since it was his birthday!

Happy Birthday Bob!

Bob turned 24 on June 7th. Luckily we were babysitting my fun cousins Nathaniel and Jaxon that weekend. They seriously were so fun to have around, and Bob had a ton of fun with them. On his actual birthday we went to Nickle City. The 4 of us had a blast playing different games. Bob hit the jack pot time and time again and we ended up having over 1500 tickets. Bob and I split the tickets between the 2 boys. They each got a rubber band gun. On the way home, we picked up some pizza and ate it at their house. Nathaniel had never had bbq chicken pizza and he ate over half of the pizza!

After dinner we competed in many wii games. And then the boys played dunk ball on the trampoline.
I made a batch of cupcakes and during the day we sang happy birthday to Bob. He had no problem blowing out the candles. I think that each boy had at least 3 cupcakes. (Pictures to come, I left my camera at home.)

Celebrate!

(Yes I look nasty, but I did just run a 10k, give me a break!)

My friend Mary and I decided to celebrate the end of the school year by running a 10k. We started training back in March/April. And by training, I mean, I started running since I used to hate it. I got past the - 1 mile is going to kill me. And then one day I was running 4 miles. I trained with the nikeipod application on my ipod and had the chip in my shoe. I thought it was genius. I loved going for runs and beating my time or length from the day before.

The day of the race I was super nervous, but excited. My goal was to run it in an hour, keeping my pace at a 10 minute mile.

Mary and I ran together and finished at 1 hour, 2 minutes. We may have gotten passed by a professional speed walker. But once she was out of view, our self esteem went back to normal. It was a little embarrassing, but now that I look back, I laugh at it.

The only problem was that my Ipod tracker was 1 mile off. So if it said I ran 5 miles, I was really running 4. During the race, I kept thinking.... We should be at this point, but the marker would tell me we were 1 mile behind. -- Now I know. haha.

I want to run another one at the end of the summer so I can try to improve my time. Who would have known, that I would grow to love running.

Looking back...

During the school year we had a couple box top competitions. Lately I have become very competitive and I was lucky to have a competitive class. We brought in the most box tops for our school. (One student, Alexia brought in 350, and we won with 850. So lucky that Alexia was in our class.) As the reward the students got to throw water balloons at the principal, librarian, and yours truly! We did it right before the faculty/6th grade softball game and it was so fun.

Here is my cute class that I loved to death. I seriously was so spoiled to have such great kids. I am going to miss them!

Earlier in the day Keely (librarian) and I were trying to figure out how we were going to protect our hair. These little beauties are what we came up with.

Here I am, getting blasted with water balloons. The majority of the balloons hit me in the crotch or in the chest. Everyone claimed that I was nervous about the softball game and peed my pants.
One boy came up to me afterward and pointed to a piece of balloon on my chest and said, "That one was mine...." haha.
