this happened

On Saturday I bought Bob Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of Prison Break. He is always talking about it and how much he loves it. The season is starting again April 17th and Bob can't wait. I rented the first season a couple years ago but only watched a couple episodes. So I wanted to catch up and Bob loves them, so I bought all 3. Yes, I know, I am crazy. Saturday night after a fun day of moving furniture (kitchen table, 4 chairs, a microwave and a washer and dryer) to our apartment and a birthday bbq-- we were ready to hit the couch and watch a few episodes. We watched the first 3 that night. The next day I think we watched 6 episodes. I am LOVING it!!! It is so intense!!! I can't believe I hadn't watched it before. I can't wait to go home tonightand watch it some more!

2nd Grade here I come!

As you know from my last post, my school is downsizing for the next school year by 11 teachers. We were supposed to find out where we were going or NOT going on Friday which then led to Monday. At our faculty meeting yesterday my principal announced that those teachers who were being transferred had been told, and they would tell if they wanted to. It was kind of secretive. But I hadn't been talked to so I thought I was safe. I asked him if that meant I was staying, he said as far as he knew. --- Well that didn't last long!!!! Today I was informed by my principal that I am going to be transferred to Vineyard Elementary in Orem. I am going to be teaching 2nd grade. I am really excited to teach 2nd grade as that is where I did my student teaching and I loved that age group. I also learned a lot from my cooperating teacher and I am excited to do some of those things with my new class. I will be really sad to leave Snow Springs, I have LOVED it there along with my awesome team. We were all in our 1st or 2nd year of teaching and have a lot of common. But I won't miss the 25 minute commute each morning. My new school will be about 7-8 minute drive each morning from our apartment.

I am happy to say that we have our apartment. Thank you to my parents who are letting us stay in one of their four plexes in Orem! It is a 2 bedroom apartment, top floor and it is just off of 4th north. The last tenants moved out a week ago and we got the carpets cleaned today. Bob is free to move in as soon as he sells his contract! The pictures below are as follows:
Photo #1 Our living room, which has a lot of bookshelves and you can see our first 2 decorations are already on display! (Thanks Mom!)
Photo #2 is our bed that we bought on Saturday. Since the carpets weren't clean we had to put it in the kitchen.
Photo #3 is the kitchen. You can see we are already working on our food storage and have moved it over along with some of my winter clothes. (I thought I wouldn't need them anymore, but I guess I was wrong!)
Photo#4 is a picture of the outside of our apartment. We are on the top right!

Funny Comment of the Day

I am in love with the spring weather, and am crossing my fingers we don't get a freak snow soon. I can't wait for summer to be here. I love being outside and enjoying the sun! The nice thing about the trailer is that you can control your AC and Heater. Since it has been getting warmer, I have to turn the heater off in the afternoon and turn on the AC. When the kids came in from the lunch they were dying, they were all so hot.

One of my students is pretty mature and he has a lot of good jokes. He turns to me and says, "I'm Hot Miss Hales, in 2 Ways!!!" It was the funniest thing ever. I just looked at him and tried not to laugh, but I did. ---What do you say to that? I had to walk away.

This weekend I had a student add me on facebook. Yes, one of my students who is 8 years old. I had a panic attack and then had to reject the invitation. She has been absent so I haven't been able to explain to her why we can't be friends on facebook. Wow- They are starting young these days!

The countdown is now 65 days, this weekend I went a little crazy and bought 3 swimming suits. I can not wait for our cruise to the Bahamas. I also am excited to have a somewhat relaxing summer. I am thinking about teaching swimming lessons and taking some classes through the district for my 2 month vacation.

My school is being downsized this next school year because of the new school being built nearby. (This year our school is bursting out the seams--- or with 10 trailer classes-- and we have 1400 kids!) So next year our school will be a little smaller, which means less faculty. We are losing 11 teachers, and the teachers that get kicked are the new ones. Oh wait that is me!!!! So as of right now, I am waiting for the district to tell me where I am going. There is a chance that I will stay at Snow Springs ***cross your fingers.*** But there is also a chance that I will move to another school. They are taking 11 teachers, but they are also cutting jobs in each grade, so depending on what grades people want, other teachers may make the choice to move to the new school for the grade level they want. It's a waiting game and I am ready to know where I will be. Hopefully I will know by Friday or Monday!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

I love Kids

Today I pulled some kids from my class to work on measuring the nearest quarter inch. I had 8 of them in the conference room and we were working on a worksheet. Most of them were getting the hang of it. Michael finished and I was checking his paper. I was leaning next to him on the table measuring the lines to see if they were done correctly.

He said- "Teacher, you're skinny"
I replied, Thanks, really?
He said- "Ya you are really skinny, you look good."
I replied- "Did I used to be fat?"
He said- "No not fat, but you used to look different!"

He then proceeds to take his two tiny hands and measure my arm.... all the kids started laughing. And then he measured my wrist.

I love kids. This one always has the funniest things to say. He makes me laugh all of the time!!!!

I had a break down like 30 minutes later where I was crying because some of my kids wouldn't listen. Oh the joys of teaching!!!!

Are you JEALOUS?

Guess where we are going for our honeymoon???

We are going on a cruise to the Bahamas!!!! I am so excited. As most of you know, I am obsessed with swimming, laying in the sun and going boating. I can't wait for our trip to begin. We are getting married on the 22nd of May, we have a 3 day weekend and then I have to go back and teach the 26th-29th. (You aren't allowed to take days off the last week, unless you want a severe pay deduction, so we are choosing to wait a week to go.)

We will be going to Freeport and Nassau on our cruise. Bob has never been on a cruise before- so he doesn't know what to expect. I've been on one before with my family, and loved every second of it.

I also found my dress. It is beautiful and I can't wait to wear it. I guess I only get to wear it a few hours, since we aren't having a reception. I will wear it for pictures, coming out of the temple and our luncheon. It's a good thing I am just renting.

Here is the link to my dress:

We still don't have invitations or a photographer. So if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I need to get these things done asap, because Spring break will be here before we know it. (I am so luck to be going to Mexico with my family for a week long in the sun--- getting tan, and enjoying my family!)

When I get home I need to start sending invites and getting my bridals done. AH!!!! It's all coming so fast!
